Vaisakhi Mela

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and Information Technology (SGTBIMIT), adjacent to Gurudwara Nank Piao Sahib, New Delhi, came alive with vibrant colors, cultural zeal, and festive spirit as it organized a grand two-day Vaisakhi Mela on April 16 and 17, 2026, celebrating the rich heritage and traditions of Punjab.

The event was organized under the guidance of the revered Chairman, S. Jasbir Singh Jassi , Manager, S. Raminder Singh Sweeta, Director, Dr. (Prof.) Navneet Kaur , Assistant Director S. Virender Singh whose constant support and encouragement made the celebration a grand success.

The first day of the mela featured a series of engaging activities, including a Painting Competition, Gurbani Kanth (recitation), and a spirited Tug Of War, where students actively participated and showcased their talents and enthusiasm.

The second day witnessed an even wider array of events. The campus was adorned with creativity through painting, and a coin exhibition was hosted by S. Balvinder Singh Sokhi and his grandson, S. Kirat Singh Sokhi, while students expressed their artistic flair in the Painting Competition, Rangoli Competition, and Poetry contest. The atmosphere turned electrifying with captivating band performances, followed by energetic Giddha and Bhangra performances that truly reflected the essence of Punjabi culture.

The mela not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their skills but also fostered a sense of unity, joy, and cultural pride among all attendees. Faculty members, students, and guests appreciated the efforts of the organization committee for organizing such a lively and memorable event.

The event coordinators, Dr. Sumeet Kaur and Dr. Ashmeet Kaur Duggal, expressed their gratitude to the management, participants, and attendees for their wholehearted involvement, making the Vaisakhi Mela a resounding success.
