Specialised Training Program on “Basics of Accounting and Soft Skills”
The Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and IT successfully conducted a specialized training program on “Basics of Accounting Process and Soft Skills” for final-year students of BBA, B.Com (H), and BBA (B&I). The training was organized by ICT Academy in collaboration with Infosys under the expert guidance of Mr. Bhuvanesh Soni. We extend our sincere gratitude to our esteemed Director Ma’am, Professor Dr. Navneet Kaur, for her continuous support and encouragement. We also express our appreciation to the Heads of Departments and faculty members for their invaluable contributions in making this program a success. Special thanks to ICT Academy for making this initiative a reality in collaboration with Infosys. The training was conducted from 27th February 2025 to 21st March 2025, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience through interactive sessions and hands-on practice. Various real-world case studies and practical exercises were included to ensure students gained practical exposure to industry-relevant skills. The primary aim of this training program was to enhance students’ understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and the use of accounting software. In addition to technical knowledge, the program focused on the development of essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional etiquette, which are crucial for career growth in the corporate world. The certificates were distributed to the students , who successfully completed a comprehensive training program by our esteemed Director Ma’am, Prof Dr. Navneet Kaur. Placement led Upskilling Program on Cyber Security
SGTBIMIT organized a Placement led Up-skilling Program on Cyber Security that marked the beginning of an exciting collaboration between ICT Academy and Honeywell, aimed at empowering female students of final year, by equipping them with the critical skills required for a future in the rapidly evolving field of cyber security. The program primarily focussed on giving 100 hours hands-on training, giving them exposure to real-world scenarios. The initiative was set to transform SGTBIMIT into a Center of Excellence for Women Empowerment, where girl students were given the opportunity to learn, grow, and eventually become leaders in cybersecurity. The program played an instrumental role in the transformation of these talented young women into the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, armed with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make a difference in the world of technology. The program was a huge success and was very beneficial for the girl students. On successful completion of the training programme,girl students who meticulously attended the training program were also recognized. Seminar on “POSH”
A seminar on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace” was organized at SGTBIMIT on 2nd April 2025. The event was conducted by Wish A Smile, an NGO dedicated to social welfare. The seminar began with an insightful speech by our Honorable Director, Professor Dr. Navneet Kaur, who emphasized the significance of workplace safety and the need for awareness about sexual harassment laws. We were also privileged to have with us Mr.R.S. Arora, the founder of Wish A Smile, who shared the NGO’s vision and commitment to creating safer work environments. The session was led by Ms. Sheetal Raghuvanshi, an advocate at the Delhi High Court. She provided a detailed understanding of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013. She explained the provisions of the law, the role of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and the legal rights of employees. Ms. Raghuvanshi highlighted the importance of fostering a safe and respectful workplace. She elaborated on the process of reporting harassment, the legal consequences of misconduct, and employers’ responsibilities in ensuring compliance with the law. The seminar was highly interactive, with participants engaging in discussions and clarifying doubts regarding workplace harassment scenarios. The event concluded with a Q&A session, where attendees received valuable guidance on handling harassment cases.
