ORIENTATION DAY 2026

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and Information Technology (SGTBIMIT)
organized its Orientation Day with great enthusiasm to warmly welcome the newly
admitted students. The event marked the beginning of their academic journey and aimed to
familiarize them with the institute’s academic environment, values, culture, and
opportunities for overall growth.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome from the faculty and management. S.
Jasbir Singh Jassi (Chairman), graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address,
encouraging students to remain focused on their goals and strive to make a positive
contribution to society. S. Raminder Singh (Manager), also addressed the gathering and
motivated students to make the best use of their time at the institute by pursuing academic
excellence while developing strong values and character.
A key highlight of the programme was the address by Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur, Director. She
emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and determination as essential
qualities for achieving success. She assured the students of the faculty’s continuous
guidance and support and encouraged them to actively participate in academic, cultural,
and extracurricular activities for their holistic development.
The Heads of Departments introduced students to their respective courses, facilities, and
academic opportunities. The orientation programme also included an informative session on
institute rules and regulations, academic procedures, and the academic calendar. Students
were subsequently taken on a campus tour, where they explored the smart classrooms,
renovated laboratories, upgraded library, and other facilities available at the institute.
The event concluded with an engaging and interactive session in which the freshers shared
their experiences and interacted with faculty members and fellow students. Overall, the
Orientation Day at SGTBIMIT was an inspiring and memorable beginning for the new batch,
creating a welcoming atmosphere and setting a positive foundation for their academic and
professional journey.
