SGTBIMIT students are grateful to our Hon’ble President DSGMC, Hon’ble General Secretary, DSGMC and Hon’ble Chairman, SGTBIMIT and worthy Director, SGTBIMIT for organizing a trip to Amritsar from 25.10.23 to 27.10.23 for the final year students. The students were accompanied by the senior teachers and other staff members of the Institute. It was an enchanting and great learning experience for the students as they got to learn about the rich history of Sikhism. The Excursion group of students was welcomed at Guru Tegh Bahadur Niwas, Amritsar which is managed by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, New Delhi and lodged there during the trip. They were provided Langar by the DSGMC at this place. First Day i.e. October 25.10.23., 2023 the students visited Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji which leaves a thoughtful impact on the students that how he had fought bravely against tyrants, even after his head was cut by an enemy in the battle field but he battled in the field holding his head against one hand and struggled with the enemies. He surrendered his head in the Parikarma of Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji, as he had vowed to do so. The students got deeply impacted and learned about the devotion, courage and martyrdom of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji. The next day, all the students paid obesiance at ,Sri Harmandir Sahib (Sri Darbar Sahib). This is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs but also a symbol of Universal Brotherhood and equality. It has entrances from all four sides, signifying that anybody irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace from this real spiritual place.Over 100,000 people visit the shrine daily for worship, and also partake jointly, in the free community kitchen and meal (Langar) regardless of any distinctions , a tradition that is a hallmark of all Sikh Gurudwaras. Also, students perform seva at Guru Ramdas Ji Langar Hall and had Guru ka Langar there. All students felt blessed to experience the spirituality at the holy shrine. On last day, on returning to Delhi, all students and staff visited Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib located in Sirhind which is dedicated to the great martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji’s Younger sons Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, who were bricked alive in 1704 during Mughal rule. Here, students were also apprised by the history about the torturous treatment to the Sahibzadas which they had to go through in the THANDA BURJ with their Grandmother Mata Gujar Kaur Ji, in their pursuit of truth. It was a splendid and memorable trip which inculcate in students the Golden History of Sikh Heritage, moral values of selfless service to the mankind, righteousness and integration.
