SGTBIMIT celebrated Prakash Purab of Guru Rai Sahib Ji in the college premises. With the blessings of almighty, Path was recited. Honourable Director Ma'am, Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur enlightened everyone about his jeevani and Assistant Director, S. Virender Singh motivated students and staff to follow the teachings of Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji. Following that, Guru da langar was served to all.

It started functioning in 2009 with just 120 students on the rolls in two undergraduate courses of BCA & BBA. SGTBIM&IT, though affiliated to GGSIPU.
