Workshop on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place & Gender Sensitization” -14th Nov 201
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and IT, Nanak Piao, one of the premier institute of DSGMC, affiliated to GGSIPU, is running undergraduate courses of BBA(G), BBA(B&I) and BCA. The Institute organized the Workshop on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place & Gender Sensitization”. The event was a great success because of the continuous support and encouragement from S. M.P.S Chadha Ji, Chairman, SGTBIMIT and S. Jasbir Singh Jassi Ji, Co-Chairman, SGTBIMIT.
The Key note Speaker, Ms. Sheetal Raghuvanshi, Advocate Delhi High Court, enlightened the students against the sexual harassment at workplace and campus and make them aware of the policies on Gender Sensitization. Ms. Sheetal Raghuvanshi was working as an Ex-Councel for Delhi Commission of Women and External Member Internal Complaint Committee, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi for the last three years. She is actively working for women and child rights and has conducted many social awareness camps.
Mr. Rajinder Singh Arora, Founder and President of Wish A Smile NGO, graced the Event as Guest of Honour. He is a prominent Supreme Court Advocate working in Corporate Laws and Taxation since 34 years and founder of Legal and Advisory Company TaxFilingGuru. Hon’ble Om Prakash Sapra, Spl. Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi and Mr. Ravneet Singh Arora, young entrepreneur and member of Wish A Smile NGO, were present as eminent guests.
Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur felicitated the guests and encouraged the gathering for protecting and expanding economic and educational access and opportunities for women and girls and emphasized on gender equality.
The speaker stated that the sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexually determined behavior as physical contact, demand or request for sexual favors, sexually colored remarks, and verbal or nonverbal conduct of sexual nature. She introduced different Guidelines, complaint mechanism and preventive measures for the same. The Event was concluded by giving appreciation certificate and memento to the Institute by the NGO “Wish A Smile”.
